If you put the phone in airplane mode for a period of time or restart the phone, it will revert back to LTE and you'll have to do it all over again. Apparently, AT&T has not completely shut down 3G though I have no idea how long that will last.ĭial * # * # 4 6 3 6 # * # * select Phone Information and scroll down to Set Preferred Network Type, tap on it and select TD-SCDMA/UMTS. I can however get everything to work on 3G HSPA. That's not surprising because the phone is not on AT&T's whitelist, so VoLTE is not supposed to work on the TracFone AT&T SIM. When I insert my Tracfone AT&T SIM into it, the phone isn't provisioned for VoLTE, so there is no way to activate VoLTE in settings and it won't make calls even though it has an LTE connection and data and SMS both work. VoLTE worked perfectly on Verizon for four years.
